It was the eve of the Chicago Blackhawks season opener, and everyone was having a good time, as the Chicago Cubs ended the San Francisco Giants' annoying habit of winning the World Series in even years of this decade .

EYBS RIP, 2010-2016.

Thank God the Cubs had fantastic ninth inning to end the Giants relatively quickly, and not end up with another game going until nearly 2 am, as did the Game 3. As Ryan Hartman put it .. .

He has a busy day ahead of him today - because Blackhawks Jersey Hockey is finally back!
If any Blackhawk was the most amplified over the Cubs to advance to the ALCS, was undoubtedly Lemont, Ill., Scott Darling Native,.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11892232006282937713noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-621530940175277753.post-23199549339691778672016-10-08T09:21:00.000-07:002016-10-08T09:21:42.731-07:00BLACKHAWKS VS ST. Every day from now until the end of the season will do my best to provide links to either watch or listen live to all NHL games. If you're like me, then you are always moving. I work in a restaurant, most nights during play times and usually have to search the entire web to see who is streaming games so I am able to see while at work.

I know some of you are in the same boat or have other important people or family members who like hogging the TV, which forced them to seek other ways to enjoy the game. With current technology, it's a little easier to watch the games on your TV, computer or tablet, but the trick is to find a real legit stream. I am very careful about what you download or play on my devices and take my time and do the research for each game. I check local and national websites to ensure that I provide myself with the best and safest way to enjoy a stream. I do the same for you.

Please note that not all games are televised, resulting in radio, but I'll just provide links to those authorized stations NHL games. Remember to always check your local listings.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11892232006282937713noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-621530940175277753.post-30685172478360843762016-10-04T08:01:00.002-07:002016-10-04T08:01:22.306-07:00Blackhawks veteran defenseman Michal Rozsival 'ready for anything'

For a player who has weathered more than its fair share of any training camps throughout an NHL career that lasted 15 seasons, Michal Rozsival knows this one a little more than others.

After the Hawks were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season, the veteran defenseman was not sure if he would get another chance to play in the NHL if he did, there was certainly doubt that it would amount to the Indian head.

But on 30 June, Rozsival, 38, signed a one-year contract to return for a fifth season with the Hawks and is in the mix for what turned out to be a deep blue line.

"After last season, I had no indication or expectation that I would be back or not," Rozsival said. "I'm glad to be back."

Just how is the middle Rozsival Hawks defender is a mystery - even to him.

"Right now, I still do not know what my role is," the 38-year-old said. "It could be determined by how I play. The last four years I have played 20 games, I played 30 games and I played 50 games. I'm ready for anything and for any kind of role. obviously, I'd love to play. I'm still trying to fight for my ice time. "

Rozsival found some ice time - 19 minutes to be exact - in the 1-0 defeat of the Hawks Penguins in an exhibition Friday night at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. He finished with one shot, two hits and two blocked shots as the Hawks were shut out for the second straight game and dropped to 0-2 on the preseason.

Centre Scott Wilson scored the only goal, beating the keeper Lars Johansson in the opening seconds of the second period.

Rozsival enjoying every moment on the ice because he knows they are down.

"You never know what game you play can be one of the last games you play," said Rozsival. "I'm really enjoying all because it could be my last training camp. I look a bit different from the other times. "

After recovering from a horrific ankle injury suffered during the '15 playoffs, Rozsival returned to skate in 51 games last season and scored a goal with 12 assists. During this camp, he seems to have regained some of the lost speed after the injury.

"My ankle is better," he said. "Obviously, I had a little more time to prepare, so I feel good, I feel back on and I still love the game I still want to play, I know my time will not be very long -... you can not stop time, you can not stop aging. I'm just here and work hard and enjoy this time. "

The general manager Stan Bowman said Rozsival may be a factor this season.

"I think Michal played great hockey last year," said Bowman. "If anything, we probably played it too. Michal is on top of his game when you can give her some time to re-cooperate between games. He still has a lot of hockey left in him. With a 4 p.m. NHL roster deadline looming Tuesday, the Blackhawks pared down to a 23-man lineup compliant with the salary cap. The team will enter the regular season, which starts Thursday, with 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies.

The Hawks practiced at Johnny's Ice House West on Tuesday morning in preparation for their season opener, a road game against the Dallas Stars at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, which will air on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

New defensemen Kyle Cumiskey and Trevor van Riemsdyk made big impressions on the organization during training camp, and with Michal Rozsival (upper body) likely being sidelined for a game or two, at least one of the pair may be in the lineup to start the season.

Cumiskey was acquired by the Hawks following the 2013-2014 season and spent the last two seasons in Europe. The 27-year old hopes he did enough during camp to start the season on the ice.

"Hopefully they think I played solid every (preseason) game, bring some speed, jump up to the play a bit and (can) still be sound defensively," said Cumiskey, who played for the Colorado Avalanche when the team was coached by Joel Quenneville, but hasn't seen action in an NHL game since 2011. "I've had a rough couple years here, I've been looking forward to getting a chance to (come) back in the NHL."

Van Riemsdyk was signed after playing three seasons at the University of New Hampshire. He has dazzled the Hawks brass more than Cumiskey it seems, as Van Riemsdyk was paired with Niklas Hjalmarsson in practice Tuesday. Cumiskey didn't crack the Hawks' top three defensive pairings at practice.

"I think (I'm) just going to try to hopefully just keep doing the same thing, stay poised, stay calm with the puck, move it, keep it simple," said the 23-year old Van Riemsdyk. "I know whoever I'm playing (with) in that game, whoever my partner might be, they'll make it easy for me, they'll talk to me, they'll be in the right spot so I don't have to worry about that.

Defenseman Johnny Oduya praised van Riemsdyk following practice on Tuesday.

"He's very poised with the puck, for being a younger guy, he's really smooth and takes his time, makes plays, he fits our game style pretty good," Oduya said. "We need guys to be able to move pucks and be able to move their feet too. I'm impressed."

Injuries: Rozsival is expected to miss only a game or two with an upper body injury. Forward Brandon Mashinter (lower body) was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 1.

Forward Kris Versteeg sustained a lower body injury during practice and is questionable for Thursday's game. Quenneville said Versteeg's injury didn't look good and the team will know more on Wednesday.

Center Brad Richards didn't participate in practice. Hs wife had a baby boy earlier Tuesday morning.
